In this workshop participants would explore their own characters and give rise to their own clown. The course would be conducted from the following elements depending on the time available:
- Juggling, simple acrobatics, rhythms, balance, co-ordination
- Natural mask
- Discovery of personal clown
- Commedia Dell'Arte, The Zanni, Lazzi, gags
- Mime - illusion work
- Double acts, families
- Clown costumes
- Classical clown scenes and sketches
- Developing material
- Make-up, the red nose, practical use of make-up
- Clown costumes and props
This workshop has been conducted with actors, teachers, probation officers, clergy, social workers and nurses and would be useful for anyone working in a one-to-one relationship.
This is a practical workshop and participants should wear appropriate clothes
