Chris Harris qualified at the Rose Bruford College gaining a teaching diploma in speech and drama. He also studied with Jacques Lecoq in Paris under a French government scholarship, and then with Ladislav Fialka and the Moscow State Circus thanks to scholarships from The British Council.
